MarketReview respects the privacy of its readers and aims to handle personal information responsibly and transparently.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit MarketReview.com, contact us or otherwise interact with the website. It also explains why that information may be used, when it may be processed by service providers and what choices may be available to you.
References in this policy to “MarketReview,” “we,” “our” or “us” mean the operator and editorial publication associated with MarketReview.com. References to “you” or “visitors” mean people who access or communicate through the website.
MarketReview currently does not provide user accounts, public comments, newsletter subscriptions or facilities through which visitors can publish content. We also do not currently use advertising or affiliate tracking.
Information We Collect
The information MarketReview receives depends on how you interact with the website.
When you visit MarketReview, certain technical information may be recorded automatically by the website, its hosting environment, security systems and analytics services.
This information may include your Internet Protocol address, browser type, device type, operating system, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed, date and time of access, session information and technical events connected with the operation of the website.
This information does not ordinarily tell MarketReview your name or email address. However, technical identifiers such as IP addresses and cookie identifiers may still be treated as personal information under some privacy laws.
We use technical information to operate the website, understand how it is used, identify technical problems, protect against abuse and improve the usefulness and performance of our pages.
When you contact MarketReview through a form or email, we receive the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, subject, message and any other details included in your communication.
Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card information, bank credentials, government identification numbers, confidential account documents or other unnecessary sensitive financial information through the contact form or ordinary email.
MarketReview does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the website.
How We Use Information
MarketReview may use information collected through the website to operate, maintain and secure MarketReview.com.
Technical and analytics information may be used to understand which pages are visited, how readers reach the website, how the site performs on different devices and where technical or navigation improvements may be needed.
Information submitted through a contact form or email may be used to read and respond to your enquiry, investigate a reported error, address an accessibility concern, assess a technical problem or manage another legitimate communication.
We may also use information where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, spam, malicious activity, unauthorized access or other misuse of the website.
Information may be processed when necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect MarketReview’s lawful interests, establish or defend legal claims or respond to an appropriate request from a regulator, court or other authority.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, that basis may include our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website, taking steps requested by a person who contacts us, complying with legal obligations or obtaining consent where consent is required.
Information submitted for a particular enquiry is not automatically added to a mailing list or used for unrelated marketing.
MarketReview does not currently send promotional newsletters or marketing emails.
Google Analytics and Website Usage
MarketReview uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the website.
Google Analytics may collect information such as the number of visitors, session activity, pages viewed, approximate geographic location and browser or device information. Its standard website implementation may also use a first-party cookie to distinguish visitors and sessions.
MarketReview uses this information primarily in aggregated form to evaluate website traffic, identify popular or underperforming pages and improve the structure, performance and usefulness of the website.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or other information that directly identifies contact-form users to Google Analytics.
Google may process information generated through Google Analytics in accordance with its own privacy terms, security measures and data-processing arrangements. Websites using Google Analytics are required to disclose its use and how the service collects and processes data.
MarketReview may configure available Google Analytics privacy controls, including data-retention settings and controls relating to advertising features.
MarketReview does not currently use Google Analytics information to deliver personalized advertising, and Google Analytics is not currently connected to an advertising or affiliate program operated by MarketReview.
User-level and event-level information within our Google Analytics property will generally be configured for retention for no longer than 14 months. Google Analytics provides retention controls through which this information may be deleted automatically after the selected period.
Aggregated statistics may remain available for longer because they do not necessarily identify an individual visitor in the same way as user-level event information.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files or identifiers that a website or third-party service may store through a visitor’s browser.
MarketReview may use cookies and similar technologies for basic website operation, security, performance measurement and analytics.
Google Analytics may use a cookie such as _ga to distinguish users and sessions when analytics storage is enabled.
You can usually view, block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect certain website features, although most MarketReview editorial content should remain accessible without user accounts or personalized settings.
MarketReview may introduce a dedicated cookie preference or consent tool as the website develops. Where such a tool is available, visitors may use it to manage the categories of cookies covered by that tool.
Disabling cookies through your browser may not remove information that has already been processed. You may need to delete existing cookies separately through your browser settings.
MarketReview does not currently use advertising cookies, affiliate-tracking cookies or cookies for personalized advertising placed on behalf of MarketReview.
If our use of cookies or tracking technologies changes, this policy will be updated to reflect the services and purposes actually in use.
Contact Forms and Correspondence
MarketReview uses WPForms Lite to operate its contact form.
The form may request information such as your name, email address, subject and message so that we can understand and respond to your enquiry.
WPForms Lite does not store ordinary form entries in the MarketReview WordPress dashboard or website database. Form submissions are instead delivered to MarketReview through email notifications. WPForms also offers an optional Lite Connect remote-backup feature, which should remain disabled unless this policy is updated to reflect its use.
Messages received by email may be retained in MarketReview’s email system for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain an appropriate record, investigate an issue or protect legitimate interests.
Routine enquiries will generally be deleted within 12 months after the communication is resolved.
A message may be retained for longer where it relates to an unresolved complaint, correction, security issue, legal claim, contractual matter or another situation requiring a longer record.
Submitting the contact form does not create a financial, legal, professional or client relationship with MarketReview.
Contact details submitted for an enquiry will not be used for marketing unless you separately and clearly request or consent to receiving such communications.
When Information May Be Shared
MarketReview does not sell or rent personal information.
We may nevertheless use service providers that process limited information while helping us operate the website and communicate with readers.
These providers may include website-hosting companies, domain and content-delivery services, email providers, security and backup services, analytics providers, software providers and technical-support services.
Service providers may process information only to the extent necessary to perform the relevant service, maintain security, comply with their obligations or act on MarketReview’s instructions, subject to their own applicable terms.
Google may process website-usage information when providing Google Analytics. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses and technical logs while delivering and protecting the website. Email providers may process contact messages so they can be delivered, stored and answered.
MarketReview may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a valid legal process, investigate unlawful activity, protect the security of the website or defend the rights and safety of MarketReview or another person.
If the website or its assets are sold, reorganized or transferred, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
MarketReview does not share contact-form information with financial institutions, advertisers or commercial partners for their independent marketing purposes.
If advertising, affiliate relationships or other commercial data uses are introduced in the future, this policy and our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure will be updated where necessary.
Data Retention and Security
MarketReview retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate records, protect the website or meet applicable obligations.
Different information may be retained for different periods.
Technical server and security logs may be retained according to the operational and security practices of MarketReview and its service providers.
Contact correspondence will generally be retained for up to 12 months after an enquiry is resolved, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary.
Google Analytics information is retained according to the settings applied to our Analytics property and Google’s applicable processing practices.
MarketReview uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
These measures may include HTTPS encryption, controlled administrative access, software updates, security monitoring and reputable hosting and email services.
No website, email system or method of internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Visitors should therefore avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary contact forms or email.
If MarketReview becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will assess and respond to it according to the nature of the incident and any applicable obligations.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may choose not to submit information through the contact form. However, without a valid email address and enough information to understand the enquiry, MarketReview may be unable to respond effectively.
You may manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Where a dedicated cookie preference tool is provided, you may also use that tool to manage the choices it supports.
Depending on the privacy laws that apply to you, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These may include the right to request access to information held about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent or request a portable copy of information you provided.
These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exceptions. For example, MarketReview may need to retain information connected with security, legal obligations, the establishment or defence of claims or another legitimate requirement.
A privacy request may be submitted through our Contact Us page or by emailing info@marketreview.com.
Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant communication or record. MarketReview may request reasonable verification before disclosing, changing or deleting information in order to protect it from unauthorized requests.
MarketReview will consider privacy requests in accordance with the laws applicable to the request.
International Processing
MarketReview and the service providers used to operate the website may process information in more than one country.
This can occur because website hosting, analytics, email, security and software providers may operate infrastructure or support services across different locations.
Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between countries.
Where required, MarketReview will take reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements that support appropriate protections for information transferred or processed internationally.
By using third-party services such as Google Analytics, information may be processed according to those providers’ international infrastructure, terms and privacy safeguards.
Children’s Privacy
MarketReview is intended for a general audience interested in finance, markets and financial education. It is not directed specifically at children.
We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from children under the age of 16 through accounts, public profiles or marketing subscriptions.
A parent or guardian who believes that a child has submitted personal information through the contact form may contact MarketReview and request that the information be reviewed or deleted.
External Websites
MarketReview articles may contain links to websites operated by regulators, government bodies, financial institutions, companies, publications and other third parties.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information processed through MarketReview.
We do not control the privacy practices, security, content or data collection of external websites. Visitors should review the privacy policy and terms of a third-party website before providing it with personal or financial information.
A link from MarketReview does not mean that the external website follows the same privacy practices described in this policy.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
MarketReview may update this Privacy Policy when the website, its features, service providers or data practices change.
The date shown at the beginning of the page identifies when the policy was last meaningfully updated.
Changes will be published on this page. Where a change materially affects how information is collected or used, additional notice may be provided where appropriate or required.
The existence of language describing a possible future feature does not mean that the feature is currently available.
